Birding Peru 2012

Announcement:

I am giving it another try. I guess I want to be a bird company owner so badly, and I want to bird on a dime so badly, that I keep offering at-cost tours! Maybe you will be intested in this trip. I may sound like a used car salesman, but probably no one else is crazy or stupid enough to keep trying to not earn any money! So these are the places I plan on visiting. Next, follow the link on the right to the Peru 2012 tour page to learn a little more. Please email me with your questions, comments and suggestions.

  • Lomas de Lachay
  • Pantanos de Villa
  • Lago Junín
  • Bosque de Zárate
  • Marcopomacocha
  • El Valle Sagrado (near Machu Picchu)
  • Machu Picchu
  • Manu Road or an area near Puerto Maldonado.
I plan on also visiting el Parque Nacional Huscarán, and the Jungle beyond Iquitos after the tour is over.

Welcome to the new home of EpicBirds.

Over the course of the next few years I will fill out this new website with new tours and ideas. I am currently in Graduate School in Indiana, and so I will offer tours over the summers and holidays. Most of the new tours will be available at cost. This means I will make no money on it, and it will be super cheap. Most of my tours will be to Latin America. Most of my tours will cover very few road miles, in an effort to use less dinosaur juice and keep the cost down. For example, We might visit Mexico for 8 days, and only visit three relatively proximate places or so. Also many tours will be 60% birding and 40% relaxing time (birding from the hammock).
