Birding for the rest of us.

Ecuador

Once finished, this page will display information about four Ecuadorian tours.

Here’s a little information on them:

Common Tern (if I remember correctly) in Salinas, Ecuador

  • A pacific coast tour which will include the Mindo area, el Volcán Pichincha the desert-like Guayaquil area. It will be about a 12 day tour. Assuming price of oil doesn’t change to drastically, the price will be about $1,500.
  • Another tour will be a thorough birding of the La Selva Jungle Lodge. We will however visit some alpine regions around Quito before or after, according to the desires of the tour members. The La Selva Lodge is not cheap, but as far as lodges go, a good value.  I see this trip running for $2,500.
  • A third tour will simply attempt to join both tours above into one tour, taking twice as long, for twice the price. Participants who would eventually do both these tours would spend less on flights, making only one round trip instead of two. The tour will last about 22 days, and cost about $3300.
  • A fourth tour will include will be a boat ride from the Coca area of Ecuador, to Iquitos Perú. I don’t have the trip fully sketched out, but the idea is to visit two lodges, and to make pit stops along the way, birding and relaxing in paradise.
